Changing Relusi & Munius Default Categories for Better RaSof Scores

My Prestige Wristwatches website is sort of my testbed.  If you go there, you will see in the Menu Bar links to Articles (Munius article directory software) and Resources (Relusi inbound link generating software).

Note that I have tested this on Relusi only, so far.  Not yet on Munius.  I MAY update this after a similar Munius tweak, later.  But no promises.

Anyway, in the Relusi script "misc.php", line 10, there is a line

    $defaultCategory="Links";

I had changed that to "General Links".  And I had added some more categories while running the program.  You will see these in the left side "Categories" column after you click on (open a new window or tab) at

    http://www.prestige-wristwatches.com/links-b/

Since the site is about wristwatches, one of the categories I added was the category "Retailers/Dealers/Agents".  That was NOT set to be the default category; it was just another category.

Now, if the "General Links" category contains anything about wristwatches, that would be pure coincidence.  As it is at the time of this writing, there are no instances of the "wristwatch" or "wristwatches" keywords there.

So, what happened when Google or the RaSof Ranking Factors Scoring Service accessed the URL

    http://www.prestige-wristwatches.com/links-b/

Relusi constructed a page on the fly to show to Google (or RaSof).  So, as "General Links" was the default category, and it contained no mentions of the wristwatch keywords, the page constructed did not have the keywords other than what I stuck in the heading, and in an affiliate related fixed (hard coded) seasonal e-commerce banner for Stauer Wristwatches.  So, the page with "General Links" as the default category scored very low in RaSof.  (Interestingly, before I did this change, other changes had improved other pages but not this one - the score was actually lower - MINUS 119 - before I did the Default Category switch.

Now, the "Retailers/Dealers/Agents" category is comparably rich in instances of the keywords.  Entering the specific URL to have Relusi construct a page having that category, and having RaSof score that, I got a score of plus 487.  Not really that good, but at least substantially into positive territory as compared to negative territory with "General Links".  You can compare the two, if you like:

    http://www.prestige-wristwatches.com/links-b/?c=General%20Links
    http://www.prestige-wristwatches.com/links-b/
                ?c=Retailers/Dealers/Agents

So, FWIW, I changed the "misc.php" line 10, mentioned above, to:

    $defaultCategory="Retailers/Dealers/Agents";

Assuming the RaSof scores do have some correlation with how Google will rank your pages, it would seem that you should make the "Default Category" for your Relusi-based links (e-commerce resource) pages whichever Category gives you the best RaSof score for your keyword from the basic page.  Again, in this case, the basic URL (without the "?c=whatever") is:

    http://www.prestige-wristwatches.com/links-b/

Note that one of the modifications I made to the Relusi php scripts was to use "links-b" as the subdirectory name.  The Relusi php scripts, before my modification, used "lnk". I have since discovered that my changing the name to a longer one, and including a dash (-), may be a negative URL scoring factor for those e-commerce pages.    :(
