e-Commerce Internet Success | RaSof Ranking Factors Evaluation Anomalies

The RaSof Ranking Factors service from James D. Brausch is a service designed to help you in your e-commerce internet business. It scores your web pages on various factors to see how your pages stack up compared to others' that have gotten top search engine rankings for keywords you are interested in.

It turns out that the RaSof Ranking Factors service also looks at stuff in comments, i.e, text between <!-- ... --> tags.  Is this by design or oversight?  Do the search engines consider text in comments when determining your page rank?  Comments do definitely affect the RaSof score for a page.  So, does liberal commenting of HTML code, especially if it happens to contain some of your keywords, really affect your search engine page rankings, or does it just affect the RaSof Score?  If it affects just the RaSof score and not what the search engines do, that is a discrepancy possibly affecting your actual page ranking and your e-commerce profitability.  And who knows, in any given instance, whether the effect would be beneficial or detrimental to your e-commerce health.

I haven't tested this in all areas so far, so far only in the head area.  But try it yourself and see:   First, score one of your existing pages with RaSof.  Then, for example, insert in the head above the <title> ... </title> tags multiple instances of your keyword in a comment, e.g. <!-- yourkeyword yourkeyword yourkeyword yourkeyword yourkeyword -->.  Finally, upload that revised page and then score it again with RaSof.
