MUNIUS ARTICLE DIRECTORY
Here is the URL if you don’t yet have the Munius Data File Packing Script: ABOUT THIS SCRIPT I have found that with Munius, there are some article submissions that I want to reject. And I don't want them just flagged "rejected"; I want them deleted PERMANENTLY. The Brausch supplied scripts allow you to accept or reject article submissions, but those rejected still remain in the data files. Rejected submissions are not apparent to users, which is good. But they are still there cluttering up your server directory. More importantly, when you go to moderate submissions, they are still there, albeit marked "rejected" on the moderation page. So you have to wade through the rejected articles -- possibly dozens, scores, or eventually even hundreds of them -- to review articles previously accepted or waiting for review.
Next, there are the comments you have rejected. Munius has you accept or reject comments by responding to an e-mail that Munius sends to the moderator address you have set up in the Munius "misc.php" script when you installed Munius, whenever someone submits a comment. Both accepted and rejected comments remain on your site server "forever". A large percentage of comments you get to moderate are likely to be spam comments. Once you accept or reject them, they no longer bother you -- you can't even conveniently "change your mind" about them. Some of them can be quite large, so after you reject them, the Munius Article Directory Data File Packing Script allows you to delete them from your hosting server also. Then, there can be also a large number of "orphaned" comments. These are comments that, for some reason, you did not moderate. The reason for that could be that the submitter used a bogus e-mail address, that you never got the confirmation request e-mail because your moderator e-mail address in "misc.php" is no longer valid, or that you or your ISP inadvertently deleted the confirmation e-mail sent to you. Whatever the reason, these comments, which I call "orphaned" comments, also remain on your server, just taking up space. You may as well delete those also. Now, granted, you could laboriously go the the server, download all the comment data files, laboriously analyze each comment by opening its comment file, decide "yea" or "nay", modify the comment status file to reflect your decision, rename the remaining comment files, and then upload all the remaining and modified files back to the server. You, as I, probably will say, "never mind" to all that. Anyway, maybe it's just me, but I want rejected article submissions REMOVED altogether from the moderation process. That means deleting the references to them in the tracking data file and deleting the corresponding article files themselves. Ditto for the rejected and "orphaned" comments. I developed the the Munius Article Directory Data File Packing PHP Script to easily and conveniently do just that. DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING THE SCRIPT Since you are already a user of Munius, that has given you all the technical knowledge you need to install and run the Munius Article Directory Data File Packing PHP Script. Download and save the script zip file "x-packm.zip" and the graphics zip file "x-graphics.zip" into a suitable directory on your computer. That should be a directory other than where you have your regular Munius Brausch scripts saved for upload to your site.
Unzip "x-packm.zip", then copy the resulting PHP script file
Unzip "x-graphics.zip", then copy the four resulting .gif files
The script has an "x" in its name to distinguish it from the Brausch supplied Munius scripts. It should NOT be renamed. Neither should the graphics files.
Upload (FTP) the script file into the Munius directory with the
other Munius script files on your domain host server.
(If your FTP uploader asks you, choose "ASCII" mode for the script.)
RUNNING THE SCRIPT Operation of this script is simple. Run "x-packm.php" whenever you want. By clicking one button, you can permanently delete the article data files you have "rejected" from time-to-time in moderation. With the other buttons, you can also permanently delete the spam comments you have rejected during e-mail moderation, and the e-mail unconfirmed (orphaned) comments, all of which I consider junk comments.
You don't have to go to a log-in screen.
In your browser window just enter CAUTIONARY NOTES:

A Core Position Account comprises a quantity of the item AND a cash reserve position. The cash reserve position enables purchases adding to the quantity of the item from time to time. Proceeds of the sales of some of the item, from time to time, are added to the cash reserve position.
